How to change eSIM network on Motorola phone

Manually choose a local network when automatic selection leaves your Motorola phone stuck on weak signal or no data.

01

When to use manual network selection

Manual selection helps when the phone camps on a weak partner network, gets stuck after crossing a border, or shows signal without usable data.

  • Use it after confirming the plan covers your country.
  • Use it after toggling airplane mode.
  • Use it when one carrier name appears connected but data does not load.

02

Choose a network manually

  1. 01Open Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > your travel eSIM > Network.
  2. 02Turn automatic network selection off.
  3. 03Wait until the full list appears. This can take a minute.
  4. 04Select one available network and wait for the phone to register.
  5. 05Test a website. If it fails, repeat with another available network.

03

Switch back to automatic

After you find a working network, turn automatic selection back on before you travel to another city or country. Automatic selection helps the phone reattach as coverage changes.

04

Still stuck

  • Recheck Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > your travel eSIM and confirm mobile data uses the travel eSIM.
  • Recheck Settings > Network & internet > Mobile network > Roaming. Data roaming should be OFF in the United States, and ON in every other country.
  • Restart the phone if the carrier list does not refresh.
  • Send support your device model, destination, plan, and a screenshot of the network list.
