Troubleshooting Connectivity
Complete these four steps in order for iPhone. The device article below explains each setting path in detail.

Set Data Roaming
Open Settings > Mobile Service or Cellular > your travel eSIM > Data Roaming. United States: keep Data Roaming off. All other countries: turn Data Roaming on.

Step 3
Turn automatic network selection on
Open Settings > Mobile Service or Cellular > your travel eSIM > Network Selection. Turn Automatic Network Selection on. Only choose a network manually if automatic selection fails to connect.

Step 4
Restart the phone
Hold the side button and a volume button, slide to power off, wait 30 seconds, then turn the iPhone back on. Then test a simple website before opening data-heavy apps.

How to change eSIM network on iPhone
Keep automatic network selection on for your iPhone. Only try a local network manually if automatic selection fails to connect.

Start with automatic network selection
Turn Automatic Network Selection on. Only choose a network manually if automatic selection fails to connect.
- 01Open Settings > Mobile Service or Cellular > your travel eSIM > Network Selection.
- 02Turn automatic network selection on and wait for the phone to register.
- 03Test a simple website. If data works, leave automatic selection on.

When to use manual network selection
Only use manual selection if automatic selection fails to connect, including when the phone stays on a weak partner network or shows signal without usable data.
- Use it after confirming the plan covers your country.
- Use it after toggling airplane mode.
- Use it only if automatic selection still does not provide a working data connection.

If automatic selection fails, choose a network manually
- 01Open Settings > Mobile Service or Cellular > your travel eSIM > Network Selection.
- 02Only after automatic selection fails, turn automatic network selection off.
- 03Wait until the full list appears. This can take a minute.
- 04Select one available network and wait for the phone to register.
- 05Test a website. If it fails, repeat with another available network.

Switch back to automatic
After you find a working network, turn automatic selection back on before you travel to another city or country. Automatic selection helps the phone reattach as coverage changes.

Still stuck
- Recheck Settings > Mobile Service or Cellular > Mobile Data and confirm mobile data uses the travel eSIM.
- Recheck Settings > Mobile Service or Cellular > your travel eSIM > Data Roaming. Data roaming should be OFF in the United States, and ON in every other country.
- Restart the phone if the carrier list does not refresh.
- Send support your device model, destination, plan, and a screenshot of the network list.
